Department of Strategic Product and Business Management

The Department of Product and Business Management researches and develops strategies, methods and tools for future-oriented company organization. A particular focus is placed on the systematic exploitation of innovative potential for products, services and business models emerging from progressive digitization at the market/technology interface. Here, the associated value creation is transforming just as much as the product itself. This, for example, prompts the question of how production processes and entire value creation systems can be consistently digitized and connected according to the principles of industry 4.0. We find answers to these questions and accompany organizations as they seek to master the digital transformation both systematically and successfully. The basis for this are viable strategies and plans relating to the business, its products and production.

The Innovation Management group analyzes and develops strategies, methods and tools for the planning of future market outputs and the associated design of innovation organization. A focus is placed on the systematic exploitation of innovative potential for products, services and business models emerging from progressive digitization at the market/technology interface. The transformation toward data-driven services and business models, as well networking via digital platforms and ecosystems, are given particular weight.

Production Management

The Production Management group researches and develops approaches for the successful design of production and value creation systems. One focus is on the systematic introduction of industrial information and communication technologies in the production environment - in line with industry 4.0. Intelligent data analysis plays a central role in this. By successfully applying methods from machine learning and data analytics to data in the production context, previously untapped value creation potentials can be tapped.
