Security Champions: Intensive training for secure software products

The issue of security is crucial in the development of software products and systems: if you want to minimise risks, increase user confidence and improve product quality, you need to integrate software security into the app development process. With the Security Champion Training, the Fraunhofer IEM Academy has designed an advanced training programme for software developers who want to become experts in the field of secure software development. The training is based on the results of the AppSecure.nrw software security study published by Fraunhofer IEM. These make it clear that many companies do not have sufficient expertise for secure software development and successful security requirements management. The Security Champion Training therefore teaches essential basics and provides employees with comprehensive training on security issues.

In around 100 hours of training, the participants from adesso mobile solutions dealt with relevant security laws and standards, learnt about the principles of security by design, defence coding, methods of applied cryptography and automatic and manual code reviews. Live online sessions alternated with homework and online feedback. In this way, theoretical content was effectively combined with practical exercises and the knowledge learnt was continuously deepened. The Security Champion training courses are conducted by qualified trainers from Fraunhofer IEM. They are "Certified Sc
